About Tivan Limited

Tivan Limited (ASX: TVN) is an emerging Australian critical minerals company focused on developing strategic mineral assets in the Northern Territory and advancing projects that support global supply chains for energy transition and advanced manufacturing. Headquartered in Darwin, the company has built a growing project footprint across Central Australia through the development of the Molyhil Tungsten Project, the Sandover Fluorite Project and the Sandover AI exploration initiative.

These projects position Tivan within the global critical minerals sector, particularly as governments and industries increasingly prioritise secure supply chains for strategic resources such as tungsten and fluorite. Tungsten is widely used in defence systems, advanced manufacturing and industrial applications due to its exceptional hardness and heat resistance, while fluorite is a key input for chemical processing, aluminium production and battery materials.

Against this backdrop, Tivan has announced a new community development initiative with the Central Land Council (CLC), committing up to $1 million in funding over four years to support Indigenous communities across Central Australia.

Community Development Initiative

Under the agreement, Tivan will provide funding through a formal funding deed signed with the Central Land Council, the statutory body representing Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders across Central Australia. The funding will be delivered through the CLC’s nationally recognised Community Development Program, ensuring transparency, structured governance and measurable community outcomes.

The funding structure includes an initial contribution of $250,000 following execution of the deed, followed by three additional annual payments of up to $250,000 over the subsequent three years.

These funds will support a range of initiatives benefiting Indigenous communities located near Tivan’s project areas, particularly around the Molyhil Tungsten Project and the Sandover Fluorite Project. The program is designed to deliver community-led projects across areas such as education, infrastructure, health programs, employment pathways and enterprise development.

Importantly, the funding initiative sits independently of statutory approvals or land access agreements tied to the company’s exploration activities. Instead, it is intended to create early and tangible community benefits well before large-scale project development occurs.

Tivan’s Project Footprint in Central Australia

Over the past several years, Tivan has built a significant project presence across Central Australia. This footprint includes the acquisition of the Molyhil Tungsten Project and the Sandover Fluorite Project, alongside the development of the Sandover AI exploration initiative in partnership with Earth AI.

The Molyhil Tungsten Project currently represents the company’s most advanced development opportunity. Ongoing work includes preparation of a scoping study for a proposed tungsten mining and processing operation, as well as exploration drilling targeting additional tungsten mineralisation. The drilling program is expected to commence in late March, subject to weather conditions, while the scoping study is scheduled for publication in April.

Meanwhile, the Sandover Fluorite Project continues to progress through exploration drilling and metallurgical testwork aimed at assessing the scale and economic potential of the fluorite mineralisation. Early-stage development planning is also underway as the company evaluates the project’s potential role within a broader critical minerals precinct.

Supporting these activities is Tivan’s regional site office in Alice Springs, alongside an expanded geological team operating from the company’s Darwin headquarters.

Building Long-Term Partnerships

The community development initiative forms part of Tivan’s broader strategy of early and inclusive engagement with Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders. Over recent years, the company has finalised several Mineral Exploration Deeds with the Central Land Council covering exploration areas within the Sandover region.

These agreements include commitments to support Aboriginal employment, training and business opportunities linked to project development. They also establish mechanisms for ongoing dialogue between the company and local communities.

As part of these arrangements, Tivan and the Central Land Council have agreed to host an Annual Aboriginal Development Meeting in Alice Springs. These meetings are designed to evaluate and advance opportunities for education, vocational training, cultural initiatives and economic participation for Aboriginal people in Central Australia.

The first meeting was held in January 2025, with the next scheduled for April 2026.

Strategic Context

The initiative comes at a time when the global mining industry is increasingly focusing on environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, particularly in relation to community engagement and Indigenous partnerships.

Projects involving critical minerals often require long development timelines and substantial investment. As a result, early community engagement and trust-building are increasingly seen as essential components of project success.

For companies operating in remote regions such as Central Australia, partnerships with Indigenous communities also play a crucial role in enabling sustainable project development and long-term regional economic participation.

Conclusion

Tivan’s commitment of up to $1 million in community development funding marks a significant milestone in its engagement with Indigenous communities across Central Australia. Delivered through the Central Land Council’s established development program, the initiative aims to generate tangible social and economic benefits in regions where the company expects to operate for decades.

Alongside the advancement of the Molyhil Tungsten and Sandover Fluorite projects, the initiative highlights Tivan’s strategy of combining critical minerals development with long-term community partnerships. If successfully implemented, the program may also provide a framework for future resources projects seeking to align economic development with meaningful regional benefits.
